A lovely array of 26 Gauge Artistic wire in the most popular colors. Artistic Wire has long been the go to choice for wire wrapping but it is also suitable for looming, chain maille, jig work, weaving and even crochet.
26 Gauge is dead soft for flexibility but it holds its shape beautifully. Thickness increases as the gauge number decreases. It can be used for wire wrapping projects, looming and jig work.

FINISH NOTES:
All Colors except Red are Silver Plated with tarnish resistant clear polyurethane over the silver-covered copper. The polyurethane protects the silver from oxygen and makes it non-tarnishing.

Wire can be confusing so here is the manufacturer's explanation of how Artistic Wire is made:

All of our wire (except the Non-Tarnish Brass) is copper-based. In the case of the silver colors, the copper is first covered in silver then the polyurethane colored coating is applied over the silver. It is the silver coat that makes the colors so brilliant. In the case of the Non-Tarnish Silver, we put clear polyurethane over the silver-covered copper. The polyurethane protects the silver from oxygen and makes it non-tarnishing. Also, it is because of the silver and the process of plating the copper is the reason why it is more expensive. This actually doubles the cost of the wire.
