Wire guardians help keep thread from fraying and you also get a nice clean finish with a bit of movement between the beads and the clasp. When using wire guardians with thread, a crimp bead and a crimp cover are important. After attaching the crimp bead and squeezing it shut, tie a knot just below and dab on some glue. Then add your crimp cover.
