So very prehistoric. Lovely detail in these amazing cabochons. You are looking at millions of years ago as fossilized coral was gradually replaced by agate. High in essential minerals magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium, fossil coral has been used for a long time in medicines across many cultures.
Fossil coral is a durable, strong stone, however, it can still be scratched. If you are wire wrapping take care to ensure the edges of your wire and tools don't scratch the surface.
